Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)
Female Pellet
At IV4U Hydration Lounge, we understand that managing your health is a top priority. We're here to provide you with comprehensive information about BHRT to help you make an informed decision.
Many women seek out BHRT to manage symptoms related to hormonal imbalances, which can occur during menopause, perimenopause, or other hormonal conditions. Common symptoms include:

-
Hot flashes
-
Night sweats
-
Mood swings
-
Weight gain
-
Fatigue
-
Decreased libido
-
Sleep distrubances
At IV4U, we currently offer the pellet form, which is implanted under the skin to provide a steady release of hormones. There are several other forms, including:

-
Creams and gels: Applied to the skin and absorbed through the bloodstream.
-
Patches: Adhered to the skin and release hormones gradually.
-
Troches and lozenges: Dissolved in the mouth for direct absorption.

Pellet insertion is a simple, minimally invasive procedure. Here’s how it works:

-
Local anesthesia is used to numb the insertion site.
-
Small pellets are implanted just under the skin, typically in the hip area.
-
The pellets release hormones steadily over time, ensuring consistent hormone levels in the body.
Appointment and Financial Details

While the insertion of pellets is a billable code and often subject to your deductible or co-pay, the hormone pellet medication itself is not covered by insurance carriers. You will be responsible for the full cost of the hormone pellets at the time of insertion.
$399 for pellet insertion (This does not include any pre-treatment bloodwork that is ordered.)
Scheduling Your Pellet Insertion

Pre-Treatment Bloodwork: Bloodwork is ordered at least two weeks prior to insertion and includes the cost of patient evaluation by our nurse practitioner via Telehealth appointment.
We offer two options for this process:

A prescription for the necessary lab work will be emailed to you. You will be responsible for scheduling and covering the cost of your lab appointment. Results will be faxed to our office, reviewed by the nurse practitioner, and discussed with you via Telehealth. Cost: $149.00
-
We cover the cost of your lab work. You will receive an email from Labcorp with your prescription. Schedule an appointment using the link provided, choose the option "someone else is paying," and schedule your lab appointment. Results will be reviewed by our nurse practitioner and discussed with you via Telehealth. Cost: $249.00

If you are a candidate for BHRT, your first pellet insertion will be scheduled.

Post-Pellet Insertion

Follow-Up Bloodwork: Scheduled 5 weeks after your pellet insertion. You will have the same options for receiving your prescription as mentioned above (Option 1 or 2). Cost: $49.00 (includes post-insertion telehealth visit to review blood work and continued care plan)

The benefits of pellet therapy can be felt as early as 48 hours after insertion. Hormone levels peak around 5-6 weeks post insertion. The effects of the pellet can last anywhere from 3-4 months.
**Our pellets contain triamcinolone to help prevent inflammation at the insertion site. We use lidocaine with epinephrine for local anesthesia to reduce bleeding complications during insertion**
